From Darkness to Light
There is darkness around us. We know evil hides in the darkness because the light would reveal the truth. Satan lies and he needs us to believe his lies. The Bible says that God will bring everything that is hidden out into the light. The plans of the enemy will be exposed.
I John 1:5 This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. 6 If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all[b] sin.
We need the Bible because it brings us light. It is truth that guides us. In darkness, we cannot see so we do not know where we are going. We are supposed to be light in the world and to point the way to Jesus. We cannot do that if we are stuck in the darkness.
The devil wants us to be in the dark. He wants us scared or depressed. He wants us to feel like prisoners. He wants us to hide things, like sin, in the dark. But God has called us to be children of the light. We do not have to stay in darkness. Light wins!

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
