Hello God, it is the church. Are you there?

I previously wrote that the church needs to be full of God and Holy Spirit, so it can be full of people. When the church is full of the presence of God, there is joy and freedom. There are signs and wonders. People will be freed and delivered. If the church would be all that God has empowered it to be, people would flock to it because they desperately need Jesus.

There is way too much worldliness and compromise in the church. That is why they call us hypocrites. We live like the world does. Our sin separates us from God; it hinders us. We are supposed to live holy and obey the Word of God. We need to be salt and light after all.

But how can we go to church every week and not notice that something is missing? We get caught up in tradition, religion, and legalism. We need to keep our services to the clock. The Bible says when 2 or 3 gather in His name, He is there. God is always there. The problem is that we do not acknowledge God's presence. We do not let the Spirit of God lead us in our services. We can get stuck in a routine doing our own thing. God is saying to the church, do you know I am here? The power to change comes from God, so we need to be open to what He is doing and saying. Respond to Him.

God has given all of us gifts that we are supposed to use to minister to others and build His kingdom. He is in us. We are supposed to draw on Him and let Him flow from us into others. Let Him use you. In church, we worship. The pastor preaches the Word of God. We then, should pray for people. Signs and wonders are performed or they should be. We have an altar call. And we fellowship together, as well, at church. Above all, we let Holy Spirit tell us what to do in each service and have His way. It is not about doing the same thing week after week. We do not get points for just showing up.

When you leave the presence of God, you are not supposed to be the same. They are sacred, holy moments with God that changes you. Too many times, people go to church and leave the same way. It is up to us to go to church expecting, to be open to Holy Spirit, to be led by the Spirit to do what He wants, to minister to others, and to receive from God.

What happened during covid, shows how the church caved to the world. Churches closed down instead of staying open for the Great Physician. We let fear take over instead of having faith in God's power over sickness and disease. We should have been praying for people instead of distancing ourselves from them. It was not what Jesus would have done. We should learn from this time, so it never happens again. The state of the world is the way it is because of the state of the church. We need to do better. The more the church can tap into God, the more the world will see His glory.
