Practical vs. Idealistic
I tend to struggle with being practical in life-growing up/adulthood, getting a job, paying bills, etc, with chasing the dream. I've tend to be more practical because it seems to be more responsible. And honestly, I do not know how to live my dreams. I don't have the money, the connections, the direction to know what to do. So I have been stuck going through the motions of life. And I have regrets. I can't say I am miserable, even though there have been many tough years, but I could be happier.
As I get closer to a big birthday, I have been pondering how I have missed out on things in life. How did I let so much get past me? And time is moving quicker and quicker. There may be some things that I will never have, and I have to accept that. I need to trust in God's plan for my life and believe He will always give me what I really need, hopefully, along with what I want.
In the meantime, I keep moving forward. I need to be more intentional and strategic with my choices. It is finally time to take big leaps of faith. Don't I have to try? Cannot live in fear, after all. I will keep praying and seeking God's will for my life. I am going to keep asking. I know He has a good plan, so I hope I don't screw it up. Be brave and go after what you really want.
I don't want to think that I am forced to do something I don't want to do. I don't want there to be limits on my life. However, money is always a big issue. So what is the next step? God's mercies are new every morning, so there is always a fresh start. I need to rely more on God and not try to figure life out on my own. Just take some baby steps towards my goals and really pursue my dreams.
I always use the excuse that I do not know what to do or how to do it. Things just seem impossible. That is how God's plan is supposed to be– bigger than me. I am stuck in the prison of my own mind. I need to be careful to not run out of time. I have to take action today.
