Shake Baby Shake

The Bible says everything that can be shaken will be shaken ...

And it is shaking. God is doing it.

I thought about a salt shaker. We are the salt, and God is the shaker. Why is God shaking us? There is a purpose in it. He wants to get our attention. He wants our attention to be on Him. He also wants to shake us out of the lies and sins of this world.

I know when I lost my pet dog that I felt shaken. My life changed. I felt lost. I needed to find a firm footing again, so I had to take a look at my life and reassess things. Was I too comfortable before? I don't know, but my life got shook up. After my loss, I lost my job, too. More shaking for me to endure. We will have these times in life. We should take these opportunities to get closer to God and to let Him shape our lives.

I'd say the world is in need of some salt and light, so where is the church in all this? It, too, is being shaken. We have seen scandals. The church needs to wake up. We need to take responsibility in how we have failed society. Because we were supposed to be the influence, but we were not. It is time to get out of the comfortable pews and use what God has given you to build His kingdom. Jesus is the firm, secure Rock we build our foundations on. Get to work because time is short.

God is shaking the United States of America and the nations of the world in our time. Our government is so corrupt, there is so much sin, the church is a hot mess, and our culture has been perverted, so it is desperately in need of a good shaking. God's hands is on it, so He is working out His will. He needs to get the attention of the church. The evildoers are on blast about what He is doing, as well. He wants to get their attention, too, because He does not want anyone to perish.

We are seeing weather events and natural disasters across the world. Large earthquakes are happening. Actual natural shakings. There are wars going on. Governments are crumbling. Islam is trying to take over the West. Pandemics. Inflation. Terrorism. God wants to change the world. He wants His church to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to the world.

Nehemiah 5:13I also shook out the folds of my robe and said, “In this way may God shake out of their house and possessions anyone who does not keep this promise. So may such a person be shaken out and emptied!” At this the whole assembly said, “Amen,” and praised the Lord. And the people did as they had promised.

or shown the dawn its place,
