The Narrow Way is Narrow
Matthew 7:13 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
Luke 13:24“Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to.
The narrow way is narrow for a reason. We need to watch our choices, so we live a holy life. We need to choose our friends carefully, so we are not led astray. Even though the crowd is heading for the cliff, we should not be joining them. It is better to have God's approval than man's. We should have no fear of man. We are separated to fulfill the purposes of God.
It can be lonely. It is not easy to have a different stand than the people around you. However, it is important to do the right things to obey God and His Word. God orders our steps to protect us from things in this life. It is better if our choices align with His will, however, He does work it all out for good. Especially if we make mistakes, God is always there to deliver us. He can use those circumstances to shape us.
We need to guard our hearts. We need boundaries. It is important to be careful when it comes to what we watch and listen to. We need to watch what we say, as well. It is sinful to have sex and to live with someone when you are unmarried. We need to be honest with ourselves and examine ourselves according to God's Word.
The church is full of compromise and worldliness these days because believers are not living right. We do everything the unbelievers do. It is hard to be salt and light when we live like everybody else and we have sin in our lives. Confess your sins and repent. Obey the Bible.
Begin or restart your journey on the narrow way. Be one of the few. It will take you to heaven where you can be with Jesus. Trust that God's hand is guiding you every step of the way. In the end, it is the better road to choose.
Proverbs 4:23 Above all else, guard your heart,
for everything you do flows from it.
