To Serve or To Be Served

To Serve or To Be Served

One of my favorite scriptures is Mark 10:45. Jesus is God, but He is also, a servant. He came to the earth to save us. It was for us, not Him. We, too, should be servants. One way we can show love for others, is to serve them. Service helps us stay humble, as well. Romans 12:3 tells us we should not think too highly of ourselves. If we are busy serving others, then, we cannot get stuck thinking about just ourselves and our own problems. We should give our lives to God and to the service of others to help change the world and to establish God's kingdom on earth.

Look at the life of Jesus. He said He was about the Father's business. He preached the gospel. He healed and delivered people. He performed miracles. He died on the cross for us.

Mark 10:45
For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Be a servant. Put God first, and then, put others above yourself. It gives your life purpose.
