What about these lights in the dark?

It occurred to me that I was not seeing any lightning bugs anymore. I saw them a lot when I was younger. I was in a different state, however. But then the other night, I was in my backyard and I saw a couple. Is it me or are these creatures around less these days? It has been a long time since my childhood. I would go out with a jar to catch them. Those days are long gone.

In general, I see less bugs around. Less spiders, flies, wasps, bees. I was even thinking recently there were no lizards around. Is it a changing ecosystem? I do not want them to disappear forever. For one, they serve a purpose.

I will keep my eye out. I hope I will see much more lightning bugs in my yard.
